JCECEB has been conducted the Entrance exam for admission to various UG/PG courses in the state of Jharkhand. Candidates who are waiting for apply for various courses under JCECE Board and appear in the Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination (JCECE) 2017 can as early as possible apply through online/offline from official website www.jceceb.jharkhand.gov.in. Candidates can check the JCECE Result 2017 online, when will be announced by the Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination (JCECE) Board through their official website www.jcecebjharkhand.gov.in result page.
Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board was constituted under Section 85 of Bihar Re-Constituted Act, 2000 by the Govt. vide Memo No. 374 dated 29.03.2001. The Government of Jharkhand has assigned the responsibility of conducting entrance tests for admission into various Institutions in the state. J.C.E.C.E.B. presently organizes the following entrance tests annually (depends upon the approval granted by the respective Departments of Govt. of Jharkhand for the respective session):
- Post-Graduate Medical Admission Test (P.G.M.A.T.):For entrance into PG / Diploma Courses.
- Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination (J.C.E.C.E.):
For entrance into Engineering, M.B.B.S., Agriculture, Forestry, B.V.Sc. & A.H., Homeopathic, Ayurvedic degree Courses. (for - B.Sc. Nursing (Basic & Post Basic Group) Entrance Competitive Examination (B.Sc.N.E.C.E.): For entrance into Basic & Post-Basic Nursing Courses.
- General Nursing & Midwifery Entrance Competitive Examination (G.N.M.E.C.E.): For entrance into G.N.M. diploma Course.
- Diploma to Degree Entrance Competitive Examination (Dip. to Deg. E.C.E.): For entrance into 2nd Year/3rd Semester (Lateral Entry) of Engineering degree Courses.
- Polytechnic Entrance Competitive Examination (P.E.C.E.):For entrance into Polytechnic diploma courses.
- Industrial Training Institute Entrance Competitive Examination (I.T.I.E.C.E.):For entrance into I.T.I. NCVT / SCVT approved Courses.
- Vocational / I.T.I. to Diploma Entrance Competitive Examination (Voc. / I.T.I. to Dip.E.C.E.):For entrance into 2nd Year (Lateral Entry) of Polytechnic Diploma Courses.
- Para Medical Entrance Competitive Examination (P.M.E.C.E.):For entrance into Diploma in Pharmacy, Various Diploma and Certificate Para-Medical Courses & Certificate course in Dresser.

>Educational Qualification:
- B.Tech. Course :A candidate has to fulfill the following criteria as per the guidelines of AICTE, Delhi for taking part in this stream: - Applicant must have passed I.Sc. / 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subject along with one of the Chemistry/Biotechnology / Biology / Technical Vocational subject and He/She has obtained at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidate belonging to reserved category) in the above subjects taken together. [I.Sc. / 10+2 or equivalent examination appearing candidate may also apply but he/she will have to pass before the date of Counselling].
- M.B.B.S. Course : A candidate has to fulfill the following criteria as per the guidelines of MCI, Delhi for taking part in this stream: - Applicant must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Bio-technology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/ Biotechnology at the qualifying examination. In respect of candidates belonging to reserve category, the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Bio-technology taken together in qualifying examination be 40% instead of 50% for General Candidates. [I.Sc. / 10+2 or equivalent examination appearing candidate may also apply but he/she will have to pass before the date of Counselling.]
- Agriculture & Forestry Course - A candidate has to fulfill the following criteria for taking part in this stream: - Applicant must have passed I.Sc. / 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subject along with one of the Mathematics/Biology. [I.Sc. / 10+2 or equivalent examination appearing candidate may also apply but he/she will have to pass before the date of Counselling.]
- Animal Husbandry [B.V.Sc. & A.H.] Course - A candidate has to fulfill the following criteria as per the guidelines of V.C.I. for taking part in this stream: - Applicant must have passed I.Sc. / 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as compulsory subject. [I.Sc. / 10+2 or equivalent examination appearing candidate may also apply but he/she will have to pass before the date of Counselling.]

Subject wise Exam time schedule and duration 2017:
- Biology – 09.00 am to 10.00 am (1 hr)
- Physics & Chemistry – 10.15 am to 12.15 pm (2 hr)
- Mathematics – 12.30 pm to 1.300 pm (1 hr)
The Group-wise timing is as follows:
- PCM Group – 10.15 am to 01.30 pm
- PCB Group – 09.00 am to 12.15 pm
- PCMB Group – 09.00 am to 01.30 pm

Scoring and Marking
- Each question carries 1 mark. For each correct response the candidate will get 1 mark. For each incorrect response, 1/4 marks will be deducted from the total score. No deduction from the total score will, however, be made if no response is indicated for a question in the answer sheet. The candidates are advised not to attempt such question in answer sheet, if they are not sure of the correct response. More than one answer indicated a question will be deemed as incorrect response and will be negatively marked.
- For the purpose of evaluation, the Question Booklet code as printed in the OMR Answer Sheet on side-2 will be accepted as final.
Language of the Question Papers:
Question Paper consists of both English and in Hindi language.
In case of any ambiguity in translation of any of the questions, its English version shall be treated as final.
Exam Centres:
- List of district headquarters town where the J.C.E.C.E. – 2017 (PCM Group) will be conducted are Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Dumka, Dhanbad, Hazaribagh and Bokaro. J.C.E.C.E. -2017 (PCB & PCMB Group) will be conducted only at Ranchi.
- The Candidate should select Two Convenient town for the entrance Test.
- Though every effort will be made to allot a Centre in one of the towns selected by the candidate, yet the Board reserves its discretion to allot a Centre other than the candidate’s choice.
- Allotment of Centre is made by Computer and there is no human intervention.
Subject Groups for JCECE 2017:
P.C.M. Group – A candidate who has passed/appearing in I.Sc / 10+2 or equivalent examination with subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and is interested in appearing in the Competitive Examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, then he/she will be called PCM Group and He/She will have to give answer the question of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects in the examination.
P.C.B. Group – A candidate who has passed/appearing in I.Sc / 10+2 or equivalent examination with subjects Physics, Chemistry and Biology and is interested in appearing in the Competitive Examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology, then he/ she will be called PCB Group and He/She will have to give answer the question of Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects in the examination.
P.C.M.B. Group – A candidate who has passed/appearing in I.Sc / 10+2 or equivalent examination with subjects Physics, Chemistry and Biology as well as keeping Mathematics as an extra subject and is interested in appearing in the Competitive Examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics, then he/ she will be called PCMB Group and He/She will have to give answer the question of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology subjects in the examination.
